model beltloader

I am building a 1/144 scale airport diorama. The one thing I need & can't seem to find is an aircraft beltloader. So I am thinking of scratch building one. I am looking for some ideas or hints on how to go about accomplishing this. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

SMH Responds Scratch building is one of my favorite scale modeling activities and I am getting better at it.

One of the secrets I have discovered (yes, I know, others found it before me) is to excel at scratch building, is to have a good collection of "make-do" parts. The trouble is, you never know what you are going to need.

For instance, the belt on a belt-mover can be replicated with a piece of rubber band. You can find them anywhere from an N-scale three feet, down to one foot in width.

For the telescoping lift mechanism, you favorite hardware "big store" can be the source for multiple-sized aluminum tubing, also available at hobby shops specializing in Remote Control aircraft.
