Breaking New Ground

Before The Storm, Titanic Drama

What fascinates me about this 100-year-old epic and what has triggered so many scale models, films and books is what has been learned:

"Titanic was a symbol of the advances mankind had made in the last few years. The ship was considered to have been so well constructed it was believed she could sustain any amount of damage and still remain afloat. Late on the night of April 14, 1912, the sinking of the Titanic proved this idea wrong in a horribly tragic way."

This is the second in a series of four videos by videographer Phillipe Vergauwen entitled "Breaking New Ground". The series traces his research into the Titanic tragedy.
